Why September Made Me Smile
September was a great month. While getting sick and knocked out for 11 days with a cold, bronchitis and the flu, I learned a lot about myself. I learned that being sick gets tiring after 4-5 days.

I random shot I got of Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. I like pictures of people listening or thinking.

Scott Moir.

Future Bakery has the best selection of cakes and pies in the entire city of Toronto (in my opinion). I still have to try them all! So far I've only had the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake and it's super fresh and super delicious! I want to try the pecan pie, apple pie, and Oreo cheesecake.

I shot some event photos for Patrick's fundraising gala. It was really fun!

Went to Riverdale Farm. It's a little farm with animals tucked away in the eastern part of downtown Toronto. You wouldn't have known it was there! If you're taking public transit, take the 506 Carlton Eastbound streetcar to Parliament. There's a tiny sign that directs you there.

This horse came out of its little shelter just as I approached the pen. It was like he/she knew I was coming!! If it's a lady horse, I'll name her Jane. She looks like a Jane. If it's a male horse, I'll name him Boris. He looks like a Boris too.

Then it started to rain. My partner held my umbrella for me while I kept taking pictures of Jane/Boris, hehe. This horse looks so lonely and sad! I like how the legs look like they're wearing knee-high socks.

These pigs were really pink but covered in mud! They grunted and oinked like real pigs. I know they're real pigs, but my only experience of pigs is from reading Charlotte's Web. And in the book, Wilbur is so well spoken. This totally blew me away. The pigs and I could not hold a conversation. Maybe it's because I'm not a spider.

I took about 95 pictures of sheep that day. They are just the most fascinating animals. Their faces remind me a bit of llamas. Their wool looks so thick and burly. When they're lying down like this, you can see them breathe. It's kind of strange. They look like they're shaking uncontrollably.

This donkey was so cool! Nothing special about it, but I hadn't been to a farm since I was a young child, so experiencing it as an adult is different! I've seen cartoon donkeys, artistic representation of donkeys, Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, and stuffed toy donkeys....but never a real one with my own eyes!

I saw my first TIFF movie (Toronto International Film Festival) just before the festival ended on September 18. I saw Trishna. The movie was alright but I was more excited for the experience. Didn't see any movie stars because they're usually there during the first week. Anyhow, the Bell Lightbox theater was cool and new and spiffy. There was this motion-sensitive wall and when you move your arms the lights light up, hence my attempt to take flight.

I caught this little guy on the roof just below my bedroom window.

There were two raccoons!

Damn straight.

I can't fly, but I have shutter speed on my side.
What will October do to bring a smile on my face?
Great photos! I love the first one of Tessa & Scott, and the one of you whipping around the tree. Cute idea! Thanks for sharing.
