Why October Made Me Smile

by Justine posted October 31, 2011 category Monthly 2011

October was a rocky month. Lots of highs and lows.

The LOWS: I lost a relative to old age, went through a meat grinder via mid-term exams, and fought recurring flu/cold/brochitis. The HIGHS: a show by Louis CK at the Sony Centre of Performing Arts, which was one of the most memorable and amazing experiences ever. I could not stop laughing, I think I could’ve had a heart attack. I would pay to see him again.

I dropped by the Art Gallery of Ontario one day and found these guys:

There's this interesting statue where the perspective is skewed in one angle...

And then when you stand in another position or angle, the perspective is 'corrected'. It is the same statue!! How awesome is that?!

I also attempted to try a new coffee shop besides Starbucks, but these hipster places make Starbucks look unpretentious:

Went to Bulldog Coffee. They didn't serve coffee. So I ordered a latte. I said, "Thanks a latte!"

I went to a wedding. Lots of fake eyelashes.

This is the only way I can do the thumbs up. It looks strangely bent...

My friend documented my eyelash crisis. Supposedly I blink too much.

An interesting conversation taking place.

I used my wide-angle lens like crazy. I still love it. I am not out of the honeymoon phase yet.

In the middle of Dundas Square. Helped my friend pick out a new camera!

Ah. October was just bleh. More low points than high. I am self-selecting out of this skating season because I want to focus on graduating. I plan to finish my degree and then fully focus on … the rest of my life.
