Soulmates collide
When you get out of your shell, take a risk, and put forth 100% of yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised. I did that yesterday and immediately connected with a some individuals who came together because of one common passion: photography. I practiced my directing, my posing, my ability to change settings quickly depending on the lighting/environment, burned myself with an old fashioned radiator, and learned to see again.
It was the most amazing and heart-throbbing experience to learn to see again. Of course, I have near-perfect vision (with the aid of contact lenses or glasses) but the “seeing” that I am referring to is a different kind. It is the kind which stimulates all of the other senses and becomes a symphony orchestra of awesome melodies.
To see again with photography is to feel growth, renewal,

Megan's awesome bag. I love her boots.

Nadya's funky retro Nikon camera bag.

Ernest's interesting scarf.

Trung walking up the stairs the lead to... nowhere?

Wise words.

An intricate ceiling.

Paige staring into space. She was thinking about, "I am glad that this coat has pockets."

Made Paige do a little kick in the air. She had the most kickass camera out of all of us. It's so kickass that I forgot what it was called. But definitely full of medium format awesomeness.

Squirrel, you and I are one and the same. I eat my bread like that, too!

Hip-level shooting at its worst. Or greatest. Depending on how you look at it.

Ernest and his amazing fold-over thumb glove! I want a pair!

Nadya. I LOVE this girl.

Got Nadya to spin for me!!

Got Nadya to optimize her beautifully draped trenchcoat and give it some movement.

Aaand again. Thanks Nadya for being so patient with me!

Checking progress.
The photos I took may not be amazing, but it was so warm and fuzzy to meet all these people. I felt like I could pull a photography pun and they’d instantly get it! But I will save that after a couple more photo walks. It was a lovely day.
